To ring in the year of the rabbit on the Chinese lunar calendar, the Chinese Embassy in Canada has launched a series of celebrations which will be presented on the Embassy’s website, and twitter and TikTok accounts. 


I.2023 “Harmony and Shared Future” Concert

On January 18, the website of the Chinese Embassy in Canada will present 2023 “Harmony and Shared Future” Concert, which features Lang Lang and other most celebrated Chinese musicians and an A.I. singer.

II.2023 “Happy Chinese New Year” Gala

On January 21, 2023 “Happy Chinese New Year” Gala will be presented on the website of the Chinese Embassy in Canada and telecast by the Great Wall (North America) Platform and by WowTV. The gala is a variety show featuring music, dance, martial art, and the traditional Chinese performing art and many other more forms of the performing arts.

III. Happy Chinese New Year--the exhibition of the best artifacts from Sanxingdui

On January 26, the Museum and the Research Institute of Sanxingdui will co-present an exhibition showcasing the best artifacts that have been unearthed in the Shangxingdui site. Those to be exhibited include a bronze figure 2.62 meters tall, an exquisite sculpture with elegant openwork, and some gold masks as thin as paper.

IV. “The Dream of Chang’An” Acrobat Show 

On January 30, the Chinese Embassy in Canada will present an acrobat show on its website. The show narrates a story about an Ancient Roman girl who had a dream for China and thus embarked a journey following the course of the Silk Road.

V. “The Silk Princess” Dance Drama

On January 31, the Chinese Embassy of Canada will present a dance drama themed as the Silk Princess. The show features an assortment of traditional Chinese dances and narrates a story based on a print made in the Tang Dynasty of China.

VI. The Echoes of Ancient Tang Poems Concert with the Philadelphia Orchestra

On February 5, the “Echoes of Ancient Tang Poems” concert with the Philadelphia Orchestra will be webcast. Young singers from China, Canada, the U.S., etc sang accompanied by the Philadelphia Orchestra songs based on the ancient Tang poems.
