On April 24, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Canada H.E. Wang Di met with Greg Cherewyk, President of Pulse Canada.

Ambassador Wang highlighted that China and Canada are highly complementary in terms of resource endowment and economic structure, and that trade, economic and agricultural cooperation between the two sides has broad prospects and serves common interests of both sides. China’s economy has maintained steady growth and continues to be the main engine and stabilizing anchor of the world economy. China is willing to share with Canada the new opportunities brought by China’s high-quality development. As two supporters of free trade and multilateralism, in the face of unilateral economic bullying, China and Canada should strengthen communication and coordination to jointly defend the multilateral trading system and inject stability and certainty into the world economy and global trade.

Mr. Cherewyk spoke positively of China’s economic development achievements, and stressed that Pulse Canada and Canadian pulse enterprises attach great importance to China’s super-size market, and are ready to continue promoting cooperation in agricultural products between the two sides.
