On April 29, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Canada held an open house event for the Teacher-Student Exchange Program between Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) and Chengdu Municipal Education Bureau. The event was attended by over 60 participants, including directors in charge of international education from the OCDSB, the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) and the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE), teacher representatives from Ottawa who hosted the Chinese students and teachers delegation, staff from UASK Education, representatives from the OCDSB delegation to China and all delegates from the Chengdu Municipal Education Bureau, student companions from host families and their parents.
In the opening remarks, Deputy Chief of Mission and Minister Counselor Lin Bin of the Embassy emphasized that international exchanges and cooperation in education serve as an important bridge enhancing communication and friendship. She expressed the hope that all sectors of China and Canada will work together to promote youth exchanges and cross-cultural communication, and to cultivate more young people with global awareness so that China-Canada friendship will be passed on from generation to generation.
During the event, students and teachers from the exchange delegations showcased their talents, experienced Chinese culture, tasted Chinese cuisine, shared their insights and experiences, and engaged in lively interactions. The event was marked by a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere.
