On May 30, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Canada H.E. Wang Di attended the opening ceremony of the Ottawa Chinatown Night Market. Nearly one thousand people, including members of parliament, local dignitaries and Canadian citizens, participated in the event.

Ambassador Wang congratulated the successful launch of the Ottawa Chinatown Night Market, noting that the event provides a unique opportunity for showcasing both traditional Chinese culture and diversity cherished by Canadians. He expressed the hope that participants would explore cultures from China and other countries.

The Chinatown Night Market featured lively dragon and lion dances in a festive atmosphere, while performances such as traditional Mexican folk dance and Indonesian dance were also warmly received. The night market will run for three days.
