On the afternoon of November 19, 2024 local time, President Xi Jinping arrived in Brasilia by special plane to start his state visit to Brazil.
When the special plane arrived at Brasilia Air Force Base, Xi Jinping was warmly welcomed at the airport by Chief of Staff of the Presidency of Brazil Rui Costa, Commander of the Brasilia Air Force Base Miguel Ângelo Côrtes Salvio Junior, Justice Minister Ricardo Lewandowski, Minister of Institutional Relations of the Presidential Palace Alexandre Padilha, and other senior officials on behalf of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the Brazilian Government.
Dozens of Batala artists delivered an energetic performance of Brazilian drumming.
Cai Qi, Wang Yi, and other members of the entourage arrived on the same plane.
When Xi Jinping's motorcade drove from the airport to the hotel, representatives of local overseas Chinese, Chinese-funded institutions, and overseas Chinese students waved the national flags of China and Brazil on both sides of the road and held up red banners reading "Welcome President Xi Jinping to Brazil for a Visit" and "Long Live China-Brazil Friendship!" to warmly welcome his visit.
Xi Jinping departed Rio de Janeiro for Brasilia after concluding his participation in the 19th G20 Summit.
