On October 15, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Canada Wang Di held a discussion with Business Council of Canada (BCC). President & CEO of Business Council of Canada Mr. Goldy Hyder, and CEOs of several leading Canadian companies, including Sun Life Financial Inc. and Roots Corporation were present.

Ambassador Wang spoke highly of the contributions of BCC and its members to promoting China-Canada economic and trade cooperation. Highlighting that bilateral economic and trade cooperation has played a "stabilizing" role in the relationship between the two countries, he encouraged BCC to continue to exert its influence and contribute to further improving China-Canada relations and deepening bilateral practical cooperation.

BCC representatives at the meeting said that economic and trade cooperation between Canadian companies and China have a good foundation, and are mutually beneficial and win-win. Canadian companies are optimistic about the huge potential of the Chinese market and will continue to make endeavors to expand cooperation with China in more industries and sectors.

BCC is a business promotion group composed of CEOs of leading Canadian companies. Its 170 member companies account for about 50 percent of Canada's private sector GDP and employ more than 2 million people.
