On October 31, Chinese Ambassador to Canada H.E. Wang Di conducted an exclusive interview with CTV in Power Play, in which he elaborated on the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the sidelines of the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in the Republic of Korea.

Ambassador Wang said that the meeting between the two leaders was very important and very successful. During the meeting, President Xi and Prime Minister Carney reached very important consensus. Both sides agreed to work together to restart exchanges and cooperation across various fields, move forward in solving economic and trade issues of each other's concern, consolidate the momentum in the turnaround of China-Canada relations, and jointly advance the China-Canada strategic partnership.
Noting that the tariff issue does not represent the entirety of China-Canada relationship, Ambassador Wang made it clear that China has taken a very open and positive approach to expand the economic and trade cooperation with Canada. He emphasized that China and Canada should pursue mutual benefits and expand practical cooperation in the areas of economy, trade and energy. China is ready to work with Canada to implement the important consensus of the two leaders. More and more good news is surely on the way, said Ambassador Wang.
