Chinese Embassy in Canada Hosts an Online Seminar for Chinese Language Teachers Across Canada on “Innovation in the Concepts and Practices of International Chinese Education in the New Context”

To further promote international Chinese language education in Canada, the Chinese Embassy in Canada, together with Chinese Consulates General across the country, held a nationwide online seminar for Chinese language teachers on March 10 titled “Innovation in the Concepts and Practices of International Chinese Education in the New Context.” Dr. Liu Jianqing, Deputy Director-General of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech. More than 120 experts, scholars, and Chinese language teachers from Canadian universities, Chinese language schools, and related educational institutions participated in the seminar.

In his keynote speech titled “Pooling Strengths to Write a New Chapter,” Dr. Liu introduced the overall development of international Chinese language education worldwide and proposed cooperation initiatives in four areas: localization, standardization, digital and intelligent transformation, and the deepening of youth exchanges. He also engaged in interactive discussions with participants on issues of broad concern to Chinese language teachers.

This seminar is the first of a series of events on Chinese language education development organized by the Chinese Embassy in Canada this year, aiming to provide a platform for communication, collaboration, and exchange among Chinese language educators.
