On April 7, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Canada H.E. Wang Di  met with Stacey Kay, Director of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB). 

Ambassador Wang commended OCDSB’s long-standing cooperation with China, and expressed his hope that OCDSB would further enhance exchanges and cooperation between China and Canada, continue mutual visits of teachers and students, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation in areas such as Chinese language education, arts and sports, so as to promote mutual understanding between the people of the two countries. He also hoped that OCDSB would continue to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese students.

Director Kay highly appreciated the OCDSB’s partnership with China, saying that she was very pleased to see the continuous improvement and development of the Canada-China relationship. She emphasized that she looked forward to deepening education exchanges and cooperation with China, and welcomed more Chinese students to study in Ottawa.
