On April 15, the Chinese Embassy in Canada participated in the Y Embassy Chef Showcase, a charity food and cultural exchange event organized by a local non-profit organization in Ottawa, and hosted its first-ever "Tea for Harmony" Yaji Cultural Salon. Chefs from more than ten embassies and high commissions in Canada, including those from China, Germany and Indonesia, showcased their respective culinary expertise. Over 600 local attendees enjoyed delicacies from around the world in a warm and friendly atmosphere. At the event, the Chinese Embassy’s diplomats introduced Chinese cuisine and tea culture to guests, illustrating the Chinese lifestyle aesthetics of "gathering friends over tea" and "upholding harmony as the core value", and helping local residents to gain an in-depth understanding of fine traditional Chinese culture while enjoying tea and food.

This event marked the Chinese Embassy’s first effort to combine the “Tea for Harmony” Yaji initiative with a local community program. As a platform for cultural exchanges with local residents, it served to foster closer people-to-people bonds between China and Canada, and promote dialogue and mutual learning among civilizations.
