Chinese Embassy in Canada Holds Exchange Session with York University

On April 16, Chinese Embassy in Canada hosted a group of faculty members and students from York University for an exchange session. The event was attended by more than 20 participants, led by Ms. Susan Jane Pond, Director of the Glendon School of Public and International Affairs.

In his remarks, Minister Counsellor Zhang Yongjun noted that China-Canada relations are showing good momentum, creating new opportunities for exchanges and cooperation across various fields. He encouraged participants to visit China whenever possible and to actively engage in and promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

During the event, embassy diplomats held in-depth discussions with faculty members and students on topics including Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, the concept of building a community with a shared future for humanity, the “four global initiatives”, China-Canada relations, and study-in-China programs. Participants spoke highly of the positive progress in bilateral relations and expressed a strong interest in gaining a deeper understanding of China. Many also conveyed their hope to visit or study in China in the future and to contribute to the continuous development of friendly ties between the two countries.
