On November 27, the Canadian government released the "Indo-Pacific Strategy". The content concerning China is full of unscrupulous attacks and smears against China, exaggerating the so-called "China threat", arrogantly claiming to divide the Chinese government from the Chinese people, and making erroneous remarks on issues related to Taiwan, Xinjiang, Hong Kong and human rights, which grossly interfered in China’s internal affairs. The Chinese side expresses its strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to this. I would like to emphasize the following:

First, Canada's interpretation of China’s domestic and foreign policies is completely wrong. China is committed to peaceful development, openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation. China has always been a force for world peace, a contributor to global development, and a defender of the international order. The Canadian side claims to have a "clear-eyed understanding" of China, but this is absolute nonsense. It must be pointed out that US and a handful of western countries have long been openly violating the basic norms of international relations based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, wantonly undermining the sovereignty of other countries and the international order underpinned by international law, causing great damage to international peace, security and development. They are the real "destructive force" in which Canada has played a disgraceful role. 

Second, the Canadian side's perception of the leadership of the Communist Party of China(CPC) is completely wrong. The leadership of the CPC is the choice of history and the people. Under the leadership of the CPC, the human rights situation in China is now at its best in history, as is recognized by the international community. To divide the Chinese government from the Chinese people is a blatant attempt to provoke the inseparable bond between the CPC and the Chinese people, revealing the Canadian side's ignorance and despicable intentions, which is doomed to fail.

Third, the Canadian side's actions to harm China's interests are completely wrong. Issues related to Taiwan, Xinjiang and Hong Kong are purely internal affairs of China and brook no interference by any external forces. China is determined to safeguard China's sovereignty, security and development interests resolutely, and will not make any compromise on issues related to its national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The days are over for western countries to ride roughshod over the developing countries.

Fourth, the Canadian side engaging in geopolitical confrontation in the Asia-Pacific region is completely wrong. Peace, development, and win-win cooperation is unstoppable trend of the times. Against the trend of the times, the Canadian side ignores the expectations of the Asia-Pacific people and blindly follows certain country to engage in group confrontation, drawing ideological lines and preaching decoupling and breaking industrial and supply chains. This will certainly be rejected by the people of the region.

The Chinese side urges the Canadian side to recognize the trend of the times and the international situation, abandon the Cold War mentality, stop acts that undermine regional peace and stability and harm China's interests, and stop political maneuvering and interference in China's internal affairs on related issues. If the Canadian side overestimates itself and acts recklessly, it will be shamefully defeated and will be met with forceful fightback by the Chinese side.
