On June 19, 2024, Chinese Ambassador to Canada H.E. Wang Di met with Mr. Carlo Dade, Director of Trade and Trade Infrastructure of Canada West Foundation at the Chinese Embassy.

Ambassador Wang appreciated and thanked the West Foundation for its long-term contribution to advancing academic cooperation between China and Canada. He said that the West Foundation, as one of the most influential think tanks in Canada, has conducted much in-depth and fruitful research on issues important for the western provinces of Canada. Currently, China-Canada relations are at a critical junction, we hope that the West Foundation would continue to actively promote greater development of academic and economic cooperation and trade between the two countries, enhance mutual understanding between the two sides, and contribute to the development of China-Canada relations, thus bringing more benefits to the people of the two countries.

Mr. Dade welcomed Ambassador Wang and said that Canada and China have deep traditional friendship and solid basis for cooperation. He suggested that the two sides strengthen cooperation in agriculture, climate change response and other areas. West Foundation will maintain close contact and communication with the Embassy to promote academic cooperation and exchanges in various areas between the two countries.
