Question: The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), together with intelligence agencies from other Five Eyes countries, has issued a so-called “security alert” alleging that Chinese spies are using online job websites to recruit individuals for intelligence activities. What is China’s comment?

Answer: The allegation of the so-called “Chinese espionage” threat is entirely fabricated and constitutes malicious slander. The Chinese side strongly condemns and firmly opposes it.

As is well known, the “Five Eyes” are the world’s largest intelligence network. Its members have long engaged in massive systemic espionage all over the world. Their activities are the real threat to peace-loving countries. We urge the “Five Eyes” countries to conduct serious self-reflection, stop acting like a thief crying “stop thief”, stop spreading disinformation, and stop making groundless accusations and smearing China.
