On June 29, the Communications Security Establishment Canada once again groundlessly played up the so-called "China cyber threat", blatantly distorting the facts and spreading disinformation. The Chinese side strongly deplores and firmly opposes this.

As one of the major victims of cyberattacks, China resolutely opposes and cracks down on all forms of cyberattacks in accordance with the law. We are also firmly against the politicization of cybersecurity issues and attempts to smear China.

As is well known, the Five Eyes countries including Canada are the world’s largest intelligence network. Its members have long engaged in massive systemic espionage all over the world. We urge the Canadian side to stop playing up like a thief crying “Stop thief”, stop politicizing and stigmatizing cybersecurity issues, and do more positive things to safeguard and promote China–Canada relations, not the opposite.
